Ane Cornelia Pade
Art Historian, Curator, Writer, Teacher
Ane Cornelia Pade is an art historian specialising in eighteenth- and early nineteenth-century France, with particular interests in sculpture and the decorative arts. She is an Affiliated Lecturer at the University of Cambridge.
Her doctoral research reconstructed the interiors and sculpture collections of the Hôtel Bondy in Paris and led to the identification of previously undocumented objects, including mounted works attributed to the bronzier Pierre Gouthière, as well as six previously lost works from the collection of the sculptor François Girardon, including models for royal commissions at Versailles and the Louvre.
Her Research has been published in The Burlington Magazine and other academic journals. She is the 2025 recipient of The Burlington Magazine Scholarship for the Study of Eighteenth-Century Fine and Decorative Art. She has worked with museum collections as a curator, project manager, and educator, Including ARKEN - Museum of Contemporary Art and Designmuseum Danmark. She frequently writes on on art, design, and fashion for popular audiences, and advices private collectors on acquisition.
